Corey assists farm families and businesses in meeting their transition and business goals.
Corey has significant experience, particularly with respect to LLCs, buyouts and buy-sell agreements in corporations/LLCs, structuring estate planning for the non-farm child(ren) vs. the child(ren) on the farm, mergers and acquisitions, all real estate matters, and all general estate planning/trusts/probate and elder law issues.
He also assists in structuring entities for client’s bureau water concerns and general water law matters, together with reviewing and negotiating wind energy leases and real estate development projects.

His practice focuses on structuring and transitioning businesses and assets to support long-term continuity. He works closely with Norm and Corey through direct collaboration and mentorship, applying their extensive experience to client matters. In this role, Derek assists with estate and succession planning, entity formation and restructuring, and strategies addressing the needs of both operating and non-operating family members across agricultural and other closely held businesses. He is committed to developing a practice focused on high-net-worth estate planning, business succession, and long-term wealth preservation for families and closely held businesses.
